New Website!

Dear Allies and Supporters,

This week has been a busy one of emails, phone calls, and website building. We received our 8 sample prototype devices in the mail last weekend and are slowly learning how each of them works so they can be presented to focus groups of sex workers. Meanwhile, we have been in contact with WISH, PACE, Pivot, and SWUAV this week working towards setting up those focus groups for the near future.

The biggest new development of the week has been the launch of our new website at Check it out! We are now accepting donations via PayPal on that website. The finishing touches on our new website are being made (so please let us know if you have feedback!), but our eventual plan will be to retire our Rally page an migrate entirely to the new platform.

Our fundraising efforts are on-going and our team is applying for small pots of funding here and there and engaging with individuals for donations on a regular basis, and every little bit helps! Thank you to everyone who has donated to this point!

We always find special meaning in sharing a quote each week with our followers and supporters. This week’s quote comes from C. Joybell C.:
“The only way that we can live, is if we grow. The only way that we can grow is if we change. The only way that we can change is if we learn. The only way we can learn is if we are exposed. And the only way that we can become exposed is if we throw ourselves out into the open. Do it. Throw yourself.”
Although our project is in its infancy we feel that it’s growing and changing based on the feedback and discussion we receive from everyone- from community organizers, social venture and business leaders, activists, and especially the sex trade worker communities. We are learning the importance of listening to everyone and learning from different perspectives. Our team is constantly exposed to opportunities and ideas that we think will help make Keep-Safe a success and we cannot wait to share this success with you!

In Solidarity,

The Keep Safe Team
